AHA I love this post by JS in the 6a website:
GATHERING @ ECP- THE AFTERMATH
For those who didn't get to come, here's what you missed:
It got off with a terrible start. Escorts were late(yes alex, no need to look around), ice wasn't bought beforehand so the drinks were lukewarm at the start, many people moaned when they had to walk 3km from Macs to the BBQ site(boy, did I get a earful from Sharlene) and many more horrible things happened and I was muttering to myself,"Jiasheng, this is bad. Why did you want to organise a gathering anyway?" Then when things started getting better(we skipped two games), they got worse again. We were happily BBQing then the storms came in. Luckily there was a shelter in between our pits, and we all cramped there, eating the bee hoon, just arrived. You should have seen the pits. They were practically islanded. as in their surroundings were like FLOODED. Oh no.
Then I realised something. People weren't fretting.
They were laughing and smiling and eating and enjoying themselves and entertaining themselves silly by singing graduation songs and washing their feet(There was this other family bunking with us in the shelter and they must be puzzled).I got a call from Mrs Chen and she bought chips and tibits and everybody was euphoric.
When the rain slighted to a drizzle, we all ran to the sea (we were banning people from the sea at first) then I got buried, pushed down the sea but I liked every moment of it. Jovina lost her specs and we all helped look for it and huien found it when we were playing. Unfortunately, Hazel's lost half-a-spectacles can't be found. We stayed in the sea till our limbs were wrinkly. We sang, hunted, laughed, meditated, had a screaming contest, looked for a cold wave, tried to step on the slimy moss(Alex said something pulled him down when he stepped on it), choked, played water-bomb(the 47 bombs I filled with water floated on the water and BOUNCED), buried the waterbombs, forgot where we buried them.
In short, we had a great time.
Then everything faded to the sun setting and the breathtaking scenery and all the thank-you messages I received. The sense of accomplishment made me glow.Technically, the gathering was an utter mess. Schedules weren't followed, we started late, there was this rain that ruined our BBQ, Ms Chia had to leave early as she wasn't feeling well, Mrs Lim didn't come at all as she couldn't afford to get sick and take medicine, some people didn't bring extra clothes, the budget was quite overshot (Sylvia's parents really suffered a lot of losses, my most sincere apologies) and there are like 2 crates of left-over food at my house.
But every body had a brilliant time and that's the aim of a gathering, isn't it?
Would I organise another gathering next year?
You bet! That basically summed up the whole gathering. Haha oh and that meditating part was done by me and Iris in the sea. "Under no circumstances will we lose our concentration." :D Meeting all my friends again and soaking in the sea were probably the best parts of the day lah. Oh then when Jovina lost her specs and when everyone was looking for them, I saw her pointing at something in front of her and going 'It's there! It's there!" (I insist that she said that) and I thought she was talking about her specs so I went to take it and GUESSWHATITWAS.A sanitary pad. -_- Floating about aimlessly in the sea. So gross lah! And we thought finding a sock in the sea before that was bad enough.
MISS 6A :(And someone from 1gy sprayed water into my group's rain gauge for geog and sabotaged the whole thing! Melissa and Juliette even saw her spraying. Urgh.
Anyway captain's ball interclass round 2 next wednesday.. I hope we'll win! :) We had a debate about whether a democratic or autocratic government was better in class during history on thursday. Haha it was hilarious cos we are all crap at debating and Carolyn is the only debator in our class.
Oh yeah I was sick of looking for blogskins (I get tired of my skins easily and I have searching for a new one for like one week) so I used this skin lah. But it's still kind of cute. :D
I love barbecued crabmeat! Haha it's crispy on the outside and well, quite crispy in the inside also. Then there were two groups of people bbqing food cos we booked two pits, and one group was supervised by Sylvia's parents and the other group was umm, not supervised by any adults and hogged by the guys. Then its like the food that came out from the guy's side was like all black lah. Haha but at least they can bbq a little and 3/4 of the crabmeat were eaten by me. :D I've never barbecued before. :/
I love the 'Dui mian de nv hai kan guo lai' song! Haha cos Jovina's section in choir is singing that for the rgs choir concert then she and Qiqi kept singing that song yesterday with all the actions. Yes it was popular when my 22 year-old sister was in sec school so it's quite ancient. But it's a nice song anyway!
Oh and my mum just found out that our two-months old cheesecake in the fridge is still edible. -_- So guess who's going to eat it for breakfast tomorrow morning?
Heard that scgs won the hollabackcrew thing! (sorry I'm quite clueless about what it is actually) Haha 10,000 bucks okay!(i think. :/) COOLNESS.
SJ wrote "Xinyuan loves CPL Joella' on the somebody loves you board in the canteen! Urgh. :(
I think I'm going for the kayaking course in June! :D
